Christmas is getting nearer every day. The first colourful lights are twinkling in the cities, in the big shopping centres and along the streets. The little towns in Sicily, those along the coast as well as those further inland, take on a new lease of life.
A new Sicily is shown to tourists who come at this time, very different from that of the summer season.
The streets in the town centres are full of people doing their first Christmas shopping, and even the smallest village shops proudly display their âStella di Nataleâ (poinsettia), beside their fruit or fish stalls.
The climate is often very mild, enticing you to have a walk by the sea before starting the ritual of present buying.
A magical Sicily which shows itself to be just as enjoyable as California, European style.
