SEASONAL PASTURE CHANGE
In Sicily there is still the tradition of the seasonal change of pasture for grazing animals.
At the beginning of June, along the mountainous slopes of the Madonie and Nebrodi hills, the shepherds transport their herds of cows or flocks of sheep higher up the mountainside, only returning after the first rainfall in August.
Green hills are dotted by grazing animals and at times, in this period, Sicily looks very similar to Switzerland.
