Chief Inspector âCommissario Montalbanoâ was created by the Agrigento-born writer Andrea Camilleri. Italian TV made a series from his books, set in this Sicilian province, which has been translated world-wide. The secret of its success lies in the stories, full of mystery, irony and the wonderful colours of baroque, south-east Sicily. âCommissario Montalbanoâ, played by Luca Zingaretti, often appears on his terrace, belonging to the white house of Punta Secca, in Ispica, in the Ragusa province, which is today the goal of thousands of tourists.
