Today with New Travel Services we will take you on a wine tour of Etna, lasting 7 hours, visiting two different wineries, and Alcantara Gorge.
First, we will drive to Alcantara, where you can see a spectactular, natural Gorge of the Alcantara river with its sheer volcanic cliffs. .
Next, we go on to Castiglione di Sicilia to visit the Patria winery, one of the most important companies in Italian and international enology today. The vineyards grow over the black lava slopes, 700 metres above the sea on the northern side of the volcano, the vines twisting and rising in the volcanic air. They are the symbol of a unique and precious territory, a fascinating, suggestive sight.
Here you will take a tour of the vineyard and winery and then there is wine tasting accompanied by typical home-made products from the region.
Our last stop is Linguaglossa situated in a panoramic and privileged position on the northern slope of Mount Etna, which has been making traditional wines on its territory since 1850. The fertile volcanic earth, full of natural mineral components, give the wines a particular taste, along with an unusual finesse and richness, all typical of Mount Etna. Our last stop is to the Gambino Winery where you can take a tour of the vineyard and winery, followed by wine tasting accompanied by typical home-made products from the region.
